You know these 'hot deals' are a lot of work.
And they really tell you a lot about various retailers.
I have received such outstanding customer service from newegg.com. I can't say enough good about them, they seem willing to do anything they can to make sure a customer is happy long after the sale.
Coolerguys.com has been excellent. When they ran a favorite product for almost 50% lower than anyone else, I had no problem placing, or receiving, the order.
RoyalPC.com and Staples.com have been a different matter entirely. Royalpc ran an LCD monitor at 45% off in 3 different locations, then claimed it was a typo, and cancelled the order and slammed the phone down when I asked to speak to a manager.
Staples pricematched a retailer on an Antec case, and then cancelled saying the retailer sold used equipment and was an unauthorized dealer. So I was instructed to get a price quote from an authorized dealer.
I quickly found an authorized, and it was $3.23 lower. So then Staples said Corporate had to call me to approve it.
Corporate never called, so I finally got through after an hour. That executive told me that he will lose his job if he pricematches. Ironically, Staples buys from Ingram Micro and admitted they are not an 'authorized dealer'.
While newegg.com may be one of the most ethical and pleasant retailers I have ever done business with.....sadly, other companies have unbelievably low standards.
