Hi i just got an ATI Radeon 8500 64mb DDR w/ tv out. But the performence has very little gain over my older Geforce2 32mb gts, like fps staying around 40 with full everything in UT, flight sim gets 10fps, and everythings else pretty much with the same performence as the old gf2 would pull up.
following are system specs

Athlon 1.3ghz 200fsb
Biostar m7vkd KT133a mobo
R8500
512mb PC133
Sound blaster live
toshiba 6x dvd rom
16x10x40 burner
ati tv wonder VE
40gb maxtor 7200rpm drive IDE
2x 56k modems (ones v92)
enhance electronics 350w atx psu

WindowsXP professional and Windows 98SE dual boot

Any reply would be great

Did you completely delete all the nvidia drivers?

i have a hercules radeon 8500le 128meg. i fixed my low fps by flashing my mobo bios to the latest version. before, i get horrendous fps with counter-strike. i get around 30-40fps. i'm not exaggerating. i tried the latest intel inf( equal to via's 4-n-1 ) and various version vid card drivers none help. as a last resort flashed the mobo. magically CS stopped stuttering. now, i get a nice smooth fps. all is well again.

Did you correctly remove all traces of your old GTS before swapping the cards?
Do you have the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your system?
Do you have the latest drivers for your Radeon?

Well, as far as UT and flight sims go you shouldnt be seeing much difference in speed. Those games are almost completely bottlenecked by the cpu and not the video card. But since you upgraded your card you can turn more graphic options on to make it look better. Hope this helps.

I've updated the bios to the latest, reinstalled the AGP and ATI drivers (latest) and 4in1 drivers, Its all the same. So, what should I try next? Or could it possibly be my motherboard?
