Bad Parenting or Bad Kid?

Pepsei

Lifer
So I was over a friends house last night, to pick up some stuff she borrowed, and
she has a 4 year old little boy. We were getting stuff together, and he was all over
the place. She asked him to go clean up his room and you know what he said to her?

"Shut your vag, I do what I want"

Jeebus, If I was the dad, I'd slap him. But since I wasn't, I guess the only thing I can
do is point at her and laugh inside. Where does a four year old kid pick that up?
Southpark?

Bad parenting. And that does sound very similar to a South Park episode, which would further make the bad parenting claim legit.

Ugh, that one sounds like bad parenting to me. If anything like that ever came out of my daughter's mouth, she would be spanked immediately. So what was the parent's reaction?

Bad parenting. Especially if the parent just let this slip on by without any punishment. My kids have said some mean and crazy things they've heard either from TV or friends in the past but we <Barney Fife>nipped it in the bud</Barney Fife> then. Now they don't do it.

Fortunately, they've never said anything near as bad as the kid in the OP. Of course, I'm smart enough to not let the kids watch South Park. Fun parenting time for me begins on the 19th when my brother-in-law comes home for the holidays. He has no problem watching shows around the kids that the kids have no business watching and I have to continually smack him down over it.

Agreed - my daughter is only 3 and we are careful to monitor what she watches. I also make sure not to play any violent Xbox games when she's around. In contrast, I've got relatives letting their 8-year olds play Grand Theft Auto. :disgust:

PS: Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against violent video games as long as the player is of reasonable age. Heck I'm really enjoying Assassin's Creed right now.

Wow. Do kids start going to school at 4 yet? I've never heard 'shut your vag' before. That's what a hormonal, pre-pubescent 12 year old would say.

My dad remarried some years ago and now has a 12 year old daughter. He was asking me, last year when she was 11, if GTA : San Andreas was ok for her to play. Keep in mind, when I was a kid, he hated the fact I had a nintendo. I told him absolutely not, it's too violent, vulger and raw for an 11 year old to be playing. He kept saying, "I heard it's not THAT bad, besides, how much worse can it be than what she says on TV?"

I'm not sure, but I think she ended up getting it anyways. My daughter, no matter how much peer pressure is pressed upon her, is going to have limitations with this kind of stuff. I'm not saying she needs to be 17 to play GTA, but she sure as hell won't be playing stuff like that at 11.

if there was no contact between her hand and his bare ass.....bad parenting.

Wow, if I was the dad I probably would have beat the kid into a pulp right there

The kid should learn the taste of soap. If the taste of soap fails, then the taste of vinegar. Should that fail, then spankings are the last resort IMO.

100% bad parenting. Not only does that 4 year old brat need to be slapped, but so does his momma.

Pics of momma first? That will determine where the spanking will be/should be administered. 😛

I've been wondering about this myself, parents now seem to have to be a lot more aware of what their kids are watching or have access to. When I was growing up, Nintendo and Sega never put out any games that were really explicit. I think I was in middle school by the time Mortal Kombat came out. And was in high school when we got anything faster than dial up. It's not that violence and sex weren't available in the years past, it's just that the accessibility to them has become exceedingly easier in recent years.

At 4-years old this is bad parenting. If my 4-year old daughter would have said this her butt would have been in time-out and then apologizing to the person that she talked back to.

trust me, you do not want a pic, she is not a milf. she's a mother i would not f with someone else's p.

lol, a as father of 5YO and 3YO boys that get into a lot of trouble; that's shitty parenting.

My 3YO gets soap if he uses the wrong tone when he says OKAY but with the holidays, at least he gets some pretty good flavored soap.

My 5YO has always been pretty good with his social behavior but my wife freaked out (my son and I both got yelled at) when we were outside and I let him swing from a 10' high tree branch.
