That's another thing about LCDs ... the price really needs to come down before I can bring myself to consider one. I got a high-quality 19" CRT (Mitsu DP930SB) for $269 a few months ago, and can't even fathom the idea of spending more than twice that much on a display that wouldn't serve me half as well.

LCDs have a long way to go, both in price and capability, before I'll be comfortable with the idea of buying one.

It all depends on what you are willing to pay for and what are your needs.
I paid close to $2000 to get my Apple 23inch LCD, and I have NEVER seen any CRT that comes even close to it. Paying this much for a monitor may sound like overkill for a lot of people, but I could hardly fit a 17inch CRT on my desk because it is attached to the wall. If I wanted a bigger screen, my only choice would be getting a LCD or PDP.
My friend has a Viewsonic P255F, even he agrees he would much rather have mine if only he could afford it.

All I will say about that is that something is wrong with the marketplace when people have to pay nearly twice as much to get a high-quality display as what they have to pay to get a high-quality rest-of-the-computer-combined. Oh, and let me add ... lucky you. 🙂

NEC 2141 and Mitsu 2070 are both diamondtrons FYI.

It was either the 2001FP, 2005FPW, or the NEC 2141, and the 2141 made the most sense to me.

Great choice but I hope you also used $40 stackable coupon that expires today.

I didn't notice that. I just saw the prices and jumped to the wrong conclusion. Sorry about that.

Anyway, it does support my other point. These 22" monitors are still only a fraction of $2000. And I imagine both of these CRT models are being terminated as well, since Mitsubishi is telling people that ALL CRTs are being discontinued. Hopefully my 19", which I love, will last a few years, but I'm now concerned about what options there will be for replacing it when that day comes.

I loved my 19' Samsung monitor, it had it usefullness, especially during the cold winter months, until I bought a Dell 2001FP, this thing is gorgeous.
