By all means if you have not seen Windtalkers keep it that way. I remember the previews and thought it could be decent. It was 2hrs of my life I want back.

I thought it was a good watch too. Although, I do enjoy most war movies. Go watch Hart's War.

Didn't particularly liked Hart's War, I personally prefer movies that has lots of battle scenes

We Were Soldiers?
 
That one is on my list of movies to watch, but yet I always avoid it after digging up reviews of it here saying it SUCKED. Someday maybe I'll become bored and watch it, but the way things are going that doesn't look like it'll happen.
 
We were soldiers was OK be was not what I thought it would be. I know that it was supposed to have that
'documentary' style to it but some of the shots looked downright bad. I wouldn't mind a 'documentary style'
movie but I do expect one with more style than documentary.

I saw Hart's War this last week along with the Guns of Navorone. So its hard for a movie like Windtalkers to compete. I wanted to see when we were soldiers but always forgot bout it. and yes plattoon is pretty good.

Platoon is awesome. I thought Hart's War and Windtalkers both sucked, but I liked We Were Soldiers.

Yeah. I didn't think it was bad. Not great, but it was enjoyable.

 
I haven't seen Windtalkers but I heard it was weak (too much pretty violence, not enough plot or character). I was pleasent surprised by Hart's War (the trailers I saw made it look like a "Great Escape" rip-off but thankfully it was nothing like that). We Were Soliders disappointed me. I thought wonderful storytelling was ditched in favor of action movie cliches. Oh well...

WIndtalkers was so bad I walked out on it. Same thing with Hart's war.

We were Soldiers was really well done, IMO.

My favoriteis Patton tho 🙂
 
I kinda liked Hart's War. But then, I KNEW before hand that it wasn't going to be a battle intensive movie.

And I'll tell you what, when the Nazi plane was shot down over the camp it REALLY made my sound system shine. That was VERY impressive both visually and sonically. In fact, I found a few previously unknown rattles in my room after that scene. 😀

One thing about Hart's War is the dialogue is very low in volume, and the effects are very high. That's probably why I was so wowed by that crash scene.
 
windtalkers was SH*t. I couldn't finish it. This is why John Woo should never ever film another war movie ever again. In fact he should never film anything ever again. I generally like war movies and enjoyed, at least to an extent, all those mentioned in this thread save Windtalkers. I also made a thread on it after trying to watch it and the consensus was that it was trashy garbage. Probably the worst movie cage has ever been in.
