Is it frequent to get defective motherboards?
I just got a new computer. After assembling it and powering on, monitor stays black. No beeps. All fans work.
Tried many things...
- First removed all front panel connectors, hard drive and dvd. No luck.
- Tried each stick of ram separatly. No luck.
- Tried an old PCI video card, did not work either.
- Re-built the computer outside the case (PS, Video, 1 stick RAM, Mobo), did not work either.
Monitor and old PCI video card are fine. Everything else (PCI-Express video card, memory, PS, motherboard) is brand new, so who knows.
Motherboard is Chaintech VNF4 Ultra (Socket 939).
I'm going to RMA this motherboard ASAP.
Is there any chance I am making the wrong diagnostic?
