Bad LCDs?

Are there any brands or types of LCD that are generally regarded very poorly? I've been shopping for bargains and have come across several brands that I have never heard of before (i.e. be FLAT (beflat.com)). So, are there any brands/types of LCD monitor that I should definitely stay away from?
