I'm up all night backing up my files with Norton Ghost ( :D Thanks a MILLION Norton :) ) I was swapping hard drives in my Compaq 5660 case.. accidently pulled out the floppy drive power cable
The SYSTEM was NOT turned ON mind you, I just pulled too hard on the IDE cable. I soon realize its been disconnect it, I replace it back into its desiganted slot.

Unknowingly I plugged the power connector the opposite way. I turn on the PC, I Hear some sparks going off, my HAND rushes to the Power Cable  :Q as I notice SMOKE and Smell burnt silicon.
:( Thankfully I pulled the plug and saved my system (P3 600) from total annihilation.

However.. I did lose a perfectly good FDD which is Compaq OEM. So its $70 to replace :| if I order a new one.. since the button is Extra long and stuff. (maybe I can mod a current Floppy I got)

Today is not going so well either.. first my classes are canceled. WTH :| , my FDD dies out, I'm going to pay $160 to get my dad's car fixed (which I didn't break.. the mechanic hosed my dad from a $60 starter)

On top of that I have to look for a new PC case under $40 to help make a friend make a PC. Hope your day turns out better than mine :)

Almost all floppy drives are the same. The front panel/bezel is usually the only difference. More often than not you can get a regular floppy drive, remove the front plate and stick on whatever special bezel or attachments that are required to use it in your particular case. Good luck.

Cars are a pain in the a$$ sometimes and I still don't trust any mechanic.

Evercase 4252 at Newegg for $38 + $10 s/h with 300W PS. You can get it for $22 (I think) without PS.
