Bad Experiences at Best Buy

If you haven't done so already, please drop by BestBuySux and submit your stories to both the site's customer submission area and the message forum. You can share your experiences with other customers and former employees who know can provide insights into how Best Buy operates.

Thanks....

Best Buy is like any other retailer, they are there to make a profit from serving its customers. They have a lot of stores and most every AT'er is near one. Lesson is; if you want a good deal you have to shop it. This Hot Deal forum goes a long way in keeping its reader informer and enables us to get a bargain.

With that in mind this is not a Hot Deal thread.

The majority of retailers, any retailers, save for some of the high dollar stores, are nothing more than large chains, with employees functioning on 1 brain cell, no service. One or two registers open out of 15. Total apathy to everything except their cigarette/pot breaks, lunch time and selling you an extended warranty.

Retail service in America is an assembly line of money takers. They know how to take money, put it in a drawer and give change. Anything beyond that is a science project to them.

That is why 95% of my purchases for the past 2 or 3 years have been exclusively online. I educate myself about the product. What I want, and how much I'm willing to spend. Often finding free or near free deals here and in other forums.

I buy everything from shoes, clothes, computer stuff, grills, even shoe laces on line. No traffic. No giant SUVs and Monster Trucks to maneuver around, no lines, and in most cases, no tax.

It might be OT but you have to admit the site is kinda funny. There are some current and former employees who really hate that place!

Their rebates are tops and I have recieved some excellent deals. Not all price matches went well though. They could save some time and trouble by having a phone in price match-post purchase. They get really busy sometimes on the floor and it takes a while to see the right guy if it is a large pm.
