bad disc?

I have a 10 page paper ive been writing on saved onto a disc and all the sudden my computer tells me its not formatted or is formatted for macintosh or something

how the heck can i get to the files on the disc????

through dos through anthing?

i tried putting the little slider thing on the disc in both directions and neither worked

A floppy disk, right?

Your best hope is that the floppy drive has gone bad. Have you tried it in another system yet? If the disk went bad, you might get something off of it through Norton disk doctor, but I have not had much luck trying to recover floppies. If the 0 sector is damaged, the disk probably wouldn't be easily recoverable. Good luck.

is disk doctor part of a larger norton program?

It's part of norton utilities or norton systemworks.

I did a search on google, and came up with this program. They list it as shareware, so maybe you could use it once and get your data.
