Everyone has a bad day now and then, but has anyone ever felt like they had a bad week, month or year?

Recently I feel like everything has just been going downhill since September.

What about you?

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were -- I have not seen
As others saw -- I could not bring
My passions from a common spring --
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow -- I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone --
And all I lov'd -- I lov'd alone --
Then -- in my childhood -- in the dawn
Of a most stormy life -- was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still --
From the torrent, or the fountain --
From the red cliff of the mountain --
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold --
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by --
From the thunder, and the storm --
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view --

I'm with you on that one, man.

I've been burnt out for as long as I can remember.

Maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and working a part-time job at the same time has taken its toll on me. Normally I wouldn't care about the GPA but since I want to get into a good school next year, I've worked hard to keep it. That means I regularly pull all nighters just to make my assignments even "better".

I'm in a persistent state of "go go go". Never had any downtime since last Xmas and that was an extremely stressful time for my family for other reasons, so it wasn't even downtime per se.

Basically I've been working and going to school full-time for the past two years, with no real breaks (I was even doing it during summer). Overall I've been at school for 4 years now--just the last 2 years i had no vacatino time and have been working simultaneously. It kills ya.

Recently my grades have slipped in one class. I'm giving serious thought to dropping it just to save my sanity. I could probably pick up the slack and get the grade up, but at this point its just not worth it--im now "sick" on a regular basis (persistent cold due to lack of sleep and stress). I could take it again next semester and it wouldn't end up affecting my GPA.

My advice to you is just to take an evening (since its the weekend) off. Eat some tasty food, watch your favourite movie and get lots of sleep. Come back and regroup on the weekend to plan out where you want your life to be. Its tough, but I'm confident that you or anyone can direct your life (except, say, determining the health of your loved ones--you can't control that).

Just take it one step at a time and realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe you need a job change or to move and get away from where you're at.

I had a bad few weeks a few weeks ago--The rims and tires got stolen off my car, I dropped my 200GB hard drive, and I was having issues with my stomach after I ate food.

I had medicine, but that ran out so its coming back again. Other than that, things are going A-OK! But when bad things happen, it seems to happen all at once, all in the same week.

I started law school in August and I have been a mental disaster since the month before I started. I am an extremely strong person (mentally at least), but it has been hard all the same. I expect that it will be hard for about 6 more months and then start to improve. (Second year law school is better).

Just try to put it all in perspective: you could be in Iraq, you could be in Africa, you could be starving, you could be really sick, you could be missing limbs.

Trust me, some people go through months or even years that suck, but things CAN and DO improve.

Wife goes crazy, have to sleep in a psyche ward (diagnosed as Bipolar 30 years old), roomate of ours (multiple personality disorder) get's horrible yeast infection and I have to go back to house to take her to the same hospital that my wife is in. I'm sitting in an emergency room with my wife in a tiny room locked down and I can't see her or take her home for two weeks. Three days after she returns from the hospital all hell breaks loose and the roommates wife beating husband wants to come down to stay with us. He's a gruesome bastard and when I refuse to have him in the house it goes south. The next day my wife decides that she needs a divorce. I try everything I can and support her financially as she's had to withdraw from graduate school. She demands that we need to be seperated. I move and take a transfer and plan suicide. I didn't have the balls to do it and it takes two straight years of having health insurance to have your debt covered if you commit-so couldn't do it.

I'm doing much better now and haven't seen her in 3 years.

Somtimes you need perspective.

There's a woman that's going to report me to my supervisors because her TV was on the wrong input, and she thought I was being snippy. Stupid b1tch.

Things are going good for me. Well except for being sick all week. Tonight a girl friend of mine called and she wants me to go out with her and a bunch of very attractive younger women to some club opening they were invited to. I'm debating if I should go. A beer or two will make me forget I'm getting over being sick. But I'll be hurting in the morning and I have to work later the next night. I guess you could say it sucks but I really dont sweat the small things. There will always be another day for fun. Maybe I should just call her and go?

Edit: Well she offered to come pick me up and we are just going for a bit and have a couple drinks. So I'm off soon. I should be fine since she is driving and I can relax and we wont be out to super late.
