So we have this rather dodgy computer system at work - it's got wonderful features like, when you password expires, after you log it it puts up a message: Your password has been changed. It is now 123DOG. Press enter to continue.
Anyway, annoying as that is, especially when it's lagging, today I found a very interesting new 'feature'.
I'd dictated a report to be typed by a secretary, and they'd typed it and I was correcting it.
No major changes to the text. So I save it and it goes for printing.
However, on the print out I notice that the title is wrong (the editor doesn't allow you to edit the title when you're editing text).
I've no idea what to do - so I ask the secretary, they don't know. So I ask the technician that did the test I was reporting - they're not sure. In the end I speak to a manager about how to deal with it - they do know what to do.
An unbelievable waste of time for all involved

Annoying computer system at work.
While correcting a written report online, I notice that title is wrong
Editor can't edit title.
In the end requires 4 seperate people to manipulate the database, in order to change the title.
Edit - almost forgot. The text editor doesn't support the 'del' or 'backspace' keys - you have to move the cursor over the text and type spaces over the top. Nice.

- 1 - No changes could be made because it was authorized. I had to log in and 'unathorize' the report.
2 - No changes could be made because there was text attached to the database entry.
3 - Only the secretary had the authority to remove it. So, she had to log in and remove it.
The manager could now log in and delete the entire record, and then recreate it with the correct title.
4 - No data can be entered into a record until a technician has entered technical details of the test. So I had to find a technician, and have them log into the system to add the appropriate details
5 - Secretary has to retype report
6 - Finally I can check it, authorize it and send it for printing.
