I did a search and couldn't find anything on BC2, so sorry if it's a repost.

I think this looks great, especially since BF2 has issues with W7 right now anyway, and I can't seem to play it. I never played BC on a console, so I don't know how good the original was.

Thoughts?

Looks like it has some qualities of BF Heroes, i.e. more arcadey. It also looks like its very vehicle focused.

I don't know what you are referring to about BF:Heroes. Nothing I have seen about BF:BC2 has reminded me of Heroes.
I am a PC-only player, so I have never played BF:Bad Company, but I know it had a more fully developed single player story/campaign than BF2, with a lot of humor. What I am hearing about BF:BC2 is that it will be more serious. They certainly haven't shown any humorous trailers up to this point. Just serious mayhem, with lots of oppurtunities for strategy and teamwork. I'm sure some humor will creep in, to keep fans of the last game happy. But it will remain far from arcadey.

Well I guess I was just referring to the static reticule rather than tactical type reticule like in the BF2/CoD etc, I could be wrong of course about it being arcadey overall it looks pretty cool.

I hope it will be a good game, as the PC gaming FPS niche hasn't had anything new and exciting since COD4 came out, and that was a while ago.

It looks pretty cool to me. I'm not sure I'll get it though. I'd like to, but I might just get Operation Flashpoint 2 to satisfy my military FPS urges and then pick up Battlefield 3 in 2011.

That said, this game does look very cool.


I like how the guy corrects himself, "We have tanks, Jets---ERR not jets, lol, but we have lots of interesting vehicles." LOL

I think BF3 will have jets though.

haha yeah the retraction on jets was funny. but it's been pretty much evident all along that gunships are the only aircraft in the game, other than the jets that are called in for airstrikes, as seen in one of the trailers. and another trailer hinted at shoulder fired ground to air stinger, so that's a good sign.

i know jets have to be included for a true BF experience, but i hate them and i hope they're not in BF3 (although you're right they'll most likely be in it). i'm sure they'll give us more powerful AA options than BF2 though.

option to turn on blood/gore would be nice. they're borrowing a lot of things from COD (like regenerating health, bullet penetration, etc.) so why not?

Probably spelling errors like bad "comany" is WHY you couldn't find anything... haha I kid. Still, the game looks reasonably interesting, but I'll hold of judgment until I know more...

I have played the original Bad Company extensively on Xbox 360 and consider it by far and away the best Battlefield game ever. It's not perfect or even close to it, but the game is stellar and feels like a Battlefield game through and through. I'm referring to the Conquest maps here, the Gold Rush ones are good but I'm not as big of a fan of them.

The Frostbite engine allows a ton of destruction, the feel of blowing holes in a building never gets old. There were tons of weapons and fun maps. Also the kits were perfectly balanced, all of them were exceptional.

Problem is, Bad Company 2 looks more like Bad Company 1.5. It looks like a near carbon-copy of the original with some minor extras tossed in. Overall, I have no doubt it'll be fantastic and I will certainly buy it (I loved the original and also BF2 and BF2142), but I was shocked by how difficult it was to tell whether I was looking at old Bad Company 1 footage or the new one...

the main complaint against bad company being a "BF" title is the low player count. i believe it is a 24 player max game. i hope they up the count for the PC version.

48 players for PC. Pretty much been confirmed on every website in June I think.

:thumbsup: I really like that, I'm glad all these FPS military shooters are coming out, the competition is really good for all these titles
