I leave my computer on 24/7. It's one that I put together myself. Specs: Abit KG7, Seagate 40 gigger, running XP Pro. Has worked flawlessly for months. Until now. Lately, when I come home from work, my computer is "locked up". Won't respond to keyboard. I noticed hdd light stays on. When I press reset button, I notice hdd isn't found when booting up. I get a boot failure. The weird part is that I can pop the cmos battery out, then back in. Then when I restart computer, it works fine. Does this sound like a cmos battery? I'm wondering how bios seems to be losing hdd settings when i'm not shutting computer off.
Thanks
Rob
