alrighty,
well my comp starts and it takes a min for it to tell me i need to run scandisk so i run it and after a few minutes it says there is a bad cluster and that it prevents it from fixing it. so i go into windows after a 5min boot, i dunno why its takes so long lots of hard drive activity and i can hear it making a repeating sound. i get into scandisk and run a thorough test and it tells me my disk is seriously damaged and might have to be replaced, and that the bad cluster holds information on the location of files on my hard drive. Now can i format and it will be ok or do i have to replace it? i have an ibm 60gxp 40 gig. i really need some help thx any ideas plz
