Why do people need to lie to you? Go to CompUSA, look for the rebate form and see for yourself. Or Paypal me $20.00 and I will be happy to UPS one overnight to you. And it is also in the ad. #273651/#276942 Why would 2 SKU be listed? It's a damn hot deal.

Did you get that from their website? If so, then you should get your butt off the couch and go to a B&M store. Take a flier and buy that 12X writer for $199.

Yeah, you can get a Sony 12x8x32 CD-RW drive for $199.99 - $50 mail in rebate at CompUSA. Killer deal. There is a thread in this forum that has all the details. The rebate form is at the store in the rack by the exits.

The confusion came up because:

1) The deal in the paper was for a 10x?x32 for $199.99 - $50 rebate but it listed 2 SKUs - the 10x model and the 12x model. Some stores still had the price at $279.00 for the 12x model and wouldn't budge. Some budged. Some had it marked at $199 (or $199.99?) - it appears the majority have it priced at $199.99 and now the CompUSA site has that price too...

2) People weren't sure if the rebate form was for both models. It is for both models - it clearly states on the rebate form (right in front of me) $50 Rebate on a purchase of Sony 10x4x32 Internal Erasable/ReWritable CD-RW Drive (sku#273651) or a Sony 12x8x32 Internal Erasable/ReWritable CD-RW Drive (sku#276942).

I just got the 12x drive, but when i went to the rebate wall, they ran out of regular rebates and only had photo copies. There was two pages stapled together, the first page says that it is for the 10x, and the second page that you mail in, doesn't seem to say anything about the 12x. Could i just use that rebate form or do i need a diffrent one. Can some one email me the form if they have it? Please, pretty please, and oh, with a cherry on top.

I think compUSA is suck on Rebate.. I sent in my rebate for many stuffs but haven't get anything in the mail. So i wouldn't trust about any of their rebates.. ahah.. I do trust staples rebate because it does actually came for me... bye.

Call yer local compUSA, I've had a couple things with rebates and they get sent back to the compUSA instead of to my house... :)
