Yeah. I've owned 2 of those monsters that had the exact same problem right out of the box. The 3rd one worked fine. Good thing I bought them at Wal-Mart about a mile away. Made for a quick turn-around.
 
It's either some sort of new feature that creative is working on..... or the drive is mental.
