Hi there,

Okay today my computer had an issue while in standby

When I tried to wake it up the computer shut down.

upon reboot I received the message

Bad Bios Checksum... Starting Bios Recovery

Checking for Floppy...
Floppy Not Found!
Checking for CD-Rom
CD-Rom Not found!

Just keeps checking after that and doesn't stop

Can't F1,F8, or Del to get in to any setup menus...

No keys seem to work. Tried unplugging everything but Monitor and keyboard. Still no luck...

help me please...

Computer is an HP Pavillion D4000Y

The data in the CMOS is corrupt. You need to do a CMOS reset. You'll have to open up your PC and look for the CMOS reset jumper. Once you find it, you may need to remove the jumper. If a jumper isn't on it already, then you may need to put a jumper on it. Once you do either of the two, attempt to turn on the PC. The PC shouldn't boot (that's normal). Once you do that, set the jumper back to the way it was and start the PC. You should be able to press "del" or "f1" or whatever it is for HPs to change the CMOS.
