I recently re-injured my lower back lifting a box that was too big and awkward for one person to carry. It forced me to lean too far over top of it placing almost all the weight onto my back. Needless to say I'm in fairly terrible pain 🙁
I'm not here to b!tch and moan about that though... I'm getting worried this will be a common occurance for the rest of my life. I'm a fairly young guy (college student) and I never had any back problems until earlier this summer. I'm not exactly sure what the circumstances were when I injured it the first time... I know I woke up with a sore back from sleeping on it wrong and then I lifted a couple heavy things throughout the day. By the time I went to bed I couldn't even stand up the pain was so bad in my lower back. For 3 days I was basically bed ridden (thank god I'm on summer break).
Now I'm worried I did some kind of permanent damage and I will have to deal with back pain the rest of my life from that stupid injury. The box I was trying to lift earlier wasn't even that heavy... I never even got it off the ground though because the pain was almost instantaneous. I never would have had problems with this before... I'm sure of it. I'm too young to be dealing with this BS. The pain isn't anywhere near as bad this time as it was last time, but its enough that non-perscription pain killers don't seem to be doing jack to help.
The first injury was roughly 6 weeks ago, leaving me to believe it was probably as healed as it was ever gonna become. Do you guys think I should be worried about back problems for the rest of my life :disgust: ? I never even gave a second thought after the pain was gone from the second injury... figured it would heal and I would be back to normal from now on... I didn't have any lingering pain etc just some soreness for a week or so. Are there any home remedies to help the pain? I wish I had some kind of heat pad.... :frown: I really want to avoid going to the doctor if at all possible I'd like to diagnose this myself.
