Anyone know what these boards will likely retail at or when they'll be released stateside?

Apparently they're being released shortly in Singapore and I'm debating buying one (link). The price that's being offered is $235 + shipping (which will probably come out to somewhere around $50). I may even be able to waive the shipping fee since my brother might be headed that way.

It seems like a pretty good price, and from everything that I've been able to find, it seems like the US release of the board isn't due until November.

A good price? Possibly but a really shite purchase in the short term for a high end machine.

Why do i say this? G80 is due out soon which will be more powerful than the current options. As such an Xfire board is not going to shine. If you were buying now (and not having to worry about shipping) then xfire is the best around. But it won't be for long, especially considering when you'd be able to get that board.

You don't know how the board performs and nothing on that list made it look any better than a high end Asus P5W.

None of the "features" on that board i (or most others) would need over a DS3, which happens to be $80 less.

$200+ sounds right. Considering what others are charging for the better mobos.

The site actually has a comparison up for it here.

Seems to perform just as well as the Bad Axe 1 but with more features (eSATA support, better kentsfield integration, more OC friendly [but this doesn't really matter to me]).

I'm leaning towards purchasing either a Bad Axe 1 or 2 because from everything that I've been able to find, it's a very stable and reliable board with good support.

By good price, I mean with respect to what the Bad Axe 2 is probably going to retail at here in the US.

edit - fixed some typos

Skott - Yea, I might just go for it. I emailed the OP about warranty etc. If it's an international warranty, then I think I'm in. No luck on the free shipping though, brother's not going to sing until Nov. 5.

I guess I'm just wondering what retail might be. If this is significantly under retail (either here or Singapore), then I have more incentive to go for it, even if I have my brother pick it up in November.

If I remember correctly the major improvement in the badAxe2 was the BIOS I think. Couple other things but basically the BIOS improvements was the biggie. If I had a choice I'd choose the BadAxe2 over the v1 but I guess its dependent on your time frame of doing your build. I'm eyeballing the BadAxe2 myself because I dont think I can wait till end of November for my next build and I think the BadAxe2 might be out before that. So, I'm considering the BadAxe2 and P5W DH on my next build. Not sure which of those two I would take. I'd have to see a review of the Intel mobo first before deciding. Right now another P5W DH is at the top of my list.

We're in the same boat. I've narrowed it down to the Bad Axe 2 or the P5W DH Deluxe as well. The only reason why I'm leaning towards the Intel is because from everything that I can find, it seems like intel boards are more reliable and have better support.

It sounds like you've had a great experience with the ASUS board. Do you have any other experience with ASUS? Do you know anything about the reliability of their boards or their support for their products?

Cheers.
