I've been running a 9800Pro by Sapphire and I've been getting a few issues when running it for long periods of time where the entire screen would simply smear and the graphics card would stop responding until restarted. The card orignally gave me heat problems and I simply swapped it into an old shuttle board which only ran 4x AGP and that resolved the issue. Now I need to use this in a more powerful system and need to get this problem resolved while the card is still under warranty.

Here is the issue, newegg lists the specs for this card as follows:

GPU Radeon 9800PRO
Core clock 380MHz
PixelPipelines 8
Memory
Memory Clock 680MHz
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Type DDR

ATI Tool Lists the GPU as 378 and Memory at 324.

Now, I also have this card:

GPU Radeon 9800PRO
Core clock 380MHz
PixelPipelines 8
Memory
Memory Clock 680MHz
Memory Size 128MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Type DDR

ATI Tool Lists the GPU as 378 and the Memory as 338.

Why is the 9800Pro 128 reporting the correct memory clock where the 9800Pro 256 is displaying 324(648 instead of 680)? Also note that the 256 card is the one I have had numerous issues with. Is the memory accurate or should I RMA the 256 card ASAP?

Boxed and sealed - will be on it's way back to Newegg tonight. Oddly when I called to setup the RMA (since I can no longer initiate under account) the CS rep told me they were out of stock and that I would be contacted via e-mail with options for a comparable product.. this is odd because not only does their website list the card as being available when I click the link listed IN MY PURCHASE HISTORY but their e-mail strictly states all out of stock RMA's will be refunded for the full market value as to not delay the process (yet I was told I would be given options of which card to have as replacement due to it being out of stock when I was on the phone).

Very confusing what the Egg is doing.
