Bad 1394 power cable - replaceable?

So I'm building a new computer, and, like an idiot, I forgot to take out the power cord as I was messing around, and the cable that connects the power button to the mobo was blown (it says 1394 on it). I really don't want to buy another case just because the ground pin doesn't work now; does anyone know of any other options?

Thanks, valhalla

It seems you have a PEBCAK error. So what are you saying? The ground pin on the motherboard is fried? Did you do a polarity check to see if the wire is damaged? If it is in fact a damaged ground pin on the motherboard then you don't need a new case and unless you are an expert at soldering and have the right tools to fix it, go to Fry's or wherever, buy a new mobo. possibly a new case, bring it all to someone who knows how to build a rig, enjoy a cold beer while you watch him or her put it together for you....Hey you asked for an opinion!

Why would the wiring for the switch say "1394" on it? I think that's for the firewire port...not the switch. Either the case wiring is screwed up...or the OP is screwed up...and I'll take bets it's not the case. 😛

Sounds like you "got your wires crossed," and IF you're lucky, you didn't fry your motherboard...but I'll be surprised if you didn't.
