bacon owns sausage on so many levels. I am on a diet and I can flavor some vegetable soup with a tablespoon of bacon crumbles, a mere 30 calories, and it tastes great. I know what it is. Sausage can be any mystery meat or non meat they toss in the grinder.
Final word on bacon:
BLT in the summer time with ginourmous tomato slices.

I'm not a fan of bacon unless its a toasted egg/bacon sandwich..I always go with sausages with my eggs/hashbrowns breakfast.
