I know this question comes up from time to time and Yes, I have searched the archives here, but once again, what software do you recommend for backing up your hard drive in Win XP Pro? I just had to do a re-install to fix a problem and restoring a backup would have been simpler (in theory, at least.) Oh yes, it needs to be able to burn the backup to CD-R.

I used Stomp's BackUpMyPC but that was for Win2K Pro...Not sure if it works for Win XP.

Xp's built-in backup program works well. If you need something with more features such as easy scheduling, etc., BackupMyPC does the job and works with XP. (Formerly BackupExec Desktop Edition from Veritas)

The built-in backup utility works with tape drives but not CD burners. Tho, I suppose I could us it to make an image and burn that separately. But then there would probably arise the question of spanning the image across several disks. Hmmm....
