Backup Program

I'm looking for a backup solution that will backup automatically if a scheduled backup does not perform.

I have a client who only leave his computer on for about an hour or two a day, and he wants his data backed up automatically. If I schedule a backup, many times the computer will not be on to perform the backup. I'd like the backup to start upon the next boot.

Thank you

Hmm.. I'm sure there's some sort of macro you can create, but unfortunately I'm a little behind on how to do that nowadays.

Is there any way you can just tell this guy "hey, keep your computer on from 2 PM to 3 PM" or whatever?

One other option I could possibly reccomend is using a combination of logmein free and logmein backup (www.logmein.com). You could use free to connect to his computer, check to see if it's online, and then backup to backup the system. Or just free to start whatever backup program he may have.

Sorry if this doesn't help but the problem sounds like it might be more on his end. Is it a desktop or a laptop? If it's a laptop and he's traveling I could understand not having a consistent schedule but if it's a desktop there's no reason he can't leave it on between time x and time y

Wow sounds like it! Could you just go into control panel and do a scheduled task to open up the backup program when the computer starts? I think that'd work
