That's what worries Barry Steinhardt of the American Civil Liberties Union when he hears the TSA plans to use "backscatter" X-ray machines that peer under clothing to find plastic weapons ? and take graphic photos of body parts.

I don't know what to say.
What is your opinion?

Its a great way to get funding for developing new sources and detectors of x-ray and mm-waves.
Just mention the word "terrorist" and the funding agencies will throw money at you, I'd say much of the "emerging technology" is just an excuse to do R&D that might be usefull in applications that actually make sense in a few years.

It seems like that could be abused. Better hire trustworthy people for that job. BTW, I'm available. ;)

Welcome to P&N, this has been around a while now.

When will it be fully implemented at Airports???

Just give it a bit of time, we are making Logan's Run more of a Reality everyday.
