Backpack / carrying case?

Can anyone recommend a durable backpack or carrying case for my notebook that isnt too expensive. I'll be using it for college and most likely putting my books and stuff in there as well. Are there any brands or models that are good?

Go to your local best buy or any other electronic store. You can find relitive cheap cases and most are pretty durable.

You could go to Newegg and look around, they can be cheap/expensive. Price is important, usually the more you pay, the more security you get in return. You want foam padding all the way around the place where the laptop will be. Be careful if you get a cheapo because they might not have a lot of padding.

I have a SwissGear one from Best Buy, I think retail was like $50. Overall very durable, lots of room for books+accys+laptop. I love this thing. The pocket for the laptop is quite big, too big for my 15" T42, so depending how anal you are a slipcase wuoldn't be a bad idea. I abuse everything I own and this thing has stood up well, I love it.

Kensington SaddleBag (and Pro version as well).

I have a Saddlebag Pro because it was cheap a while ago and to be honest I wasn't extremely impressed I rarely use it over my more conventional laptop case. PM me if you want to buy it 🙂

I got the OGIO Metro from eBags. I think it's running about $40 right now. It's really comfortable, has tons of storage, and it doesn't scream "steal me! I contain a laptop". It even has a few neat features like plush media player pocket, and sleave inside the main pocket thats perfect for holding loose papers or folders.

Mobile Gear backpack. Got mine from Dell for $30 and it's great. Lots of padding on the straps and inside. Holds my 17" 9300 perfectly. Mine is more for airline travel. Laptop, adapter, extra battery, change of clothes, etc. It's pretty large. Just pry the Dell logo off. Screams steal me with it on there.

Targus sportpac deluxe is nice. Although it's not quite as big or with as much padding, it does have buckles around the chest and waist so it doesn't bounce around on you when you move around a lot. I use it so it stays secure when I ride my motorcycle to work.
