Backlit PDA under $150?

Hey guys,

Looking for a relatively inexpensive PDA (apprx $100-$150) for my father-in-law for christmas. It only needs to have a backlight, calender, and address book. Those are the 3 basics, whatever else comes with it would just be a bonus.

<edit> The ability to sync to the PC would be a 4th requirement...he will prefer to do most of his entries on his computer if possible, and then transfer the info over to the handheld.</edit>

Any suggestions on which PDA would best serve his purposes? I just started looking at handhelds again after 3 yrs...I can't believe how many more choices are out there now, gets so confusing with all the different companies now in the market.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Zire 31. It not only backlit, but also in color.

The resolution isn't as high as the other color Palms and it doesn't have a TFT screen (but rather a slower-response STN display), but it has a decently fast processor and expandable memory via an SD card slot (you can even play MP3s stored on an SD card with this model). And of course all the basic PDA calendar and address book funcitionality. It syncs with your PC via a USB cable.

It retails for $149, but I've seen it on sale as low as $100 on this holiday season.

thanks manuel, went ahead and picked one up with the hardcover included for around $115 after a CC 20% Gift card. Seems like it fits exactly what my father-i-l is looking for.

Thanks!
