Backlight Issue

I recently had to have my tv serviced for a couple bad capacitors. Since that I've noticed more of a backlight bleed issue. All the tech did was remove the back panel to get to the logic board. He didn't touch the panel part but I am wondering by him undoing the back panel did that alter how much bleed there is or is my OCD kicking into high gear now?

I haven't seen the schematic on your specific model, but capacitors perform the job of filtering power supplies so the output is nice and smooth. If they were failing and the back light was powered by the effected supply then it could have been running dimmer than it should have for a period of time. You would have grown use to the dimmer output and now with the supply fixed the output would be stronger than before.

What model of TV?

My Sharp LED has a common issue of clouding that can be lessened by loosening the screws in the back all around the edges slightly....they come from the factory too tight.

Just a thought.

I have a samsung LN52a650. There are several spots around the screen where the light is more visable then others. I never noticed or saw those there before until after the repair.

Would tightening the back panel screws likely fix that issue or make it worse?
