What do you guys consider to be acceptable backlight bleeding? At what point do you think the monitor needs to exchanged? I ask because I just bought my first LCD (2005fpw - kind of known for backlight problems) and I'm wondering if the backlight bleeding on mine is worse than it should be. I've got two pics of it: one with the lights off and the other with the lights on...

What do you guys think?

I think you should exchange it, I just got my 2005fpw too but it's not worse like the one you have. I only have 1 small corner blacklight bleeding ( really hard for me to notice it) and none dead pixel, so it's good for me :)

Did you adjust the brightness at all? It may be cranked way up.

I have the brightness down below the default settings. The general consensus seems to be this is too much, so I'm leaning towards exchanging it.

That makes my backlight bleeding on my 204B look alot better. I would get another also if I were you.

Then I'd RMA it also.

Best of luck.

Alright, a new one is on its way. A friend has two of these, and neither was as bad as mine, so I figured I'd might as well see what happens with a new one. Thanks for the opinions. I'll post a follow up when I get the replacement.

Ok, new one came in and there's absolutely no backlight bleeding....but there's one dead pixel. Heh. I'm going to keep it, because the pixel is way down in the right hand corner, and won't interfer with anything I do, so that's that.
