Hi, I have an HP Brio, between that and win98 I am constantly screwed, never go more than 2 months w/out reinstalling windows. I back up files to a cdrw, I was wondering, could I back up an entire application directory to cd and reinstall it? Or do installers usually put files elsewhere on the computer? I'd like to not have to reinstall the app, then the patches, then the settings, then the saved documents etc etc. Thanks.🙂
 
Installers do put files elsewhere, and also add stuff to the Windows Registry... so you cannot backup an application directory and use that to install later, sorry...
