My WIN2k installation died....so what I want to do....is format my HD and start all over again, but I don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling all my appz again...so what's the best way to go about reinstalling the OS without having to reinstall all the prog. files....I already backed up all the Program Files folder, what should I do now? I had heard something about backing up the registry? Anybody know anything about that?

Installing an old registry in a fresh install will just put you back to the mess you have. Its a pain, but if you are going to do a clean install, then re-install everything.

Might want to look into using a imaging program such as drive image or ghost for next time.

Thanks guys, already thought about Norton Ghost, but if I image that, reformat, then copy the image....it will just bring back the problems I'm having now. I guess I'll have to do a fresh install....oh well....shouldn't take more than a few hours. Thanks Bozo and A.K.A.

Pancho,
Do you relate your crash to oc?
I run 2 W2k os partitions for the reason you just gave.
One just gave me an error and won't boot. Something we installed that messed up a driver.
I can now boot to the other W2k os and explore the problem and replace the driver on the other system. Makes a great and convenient backup.

TomBilliodeaux, I don't think it's due to OC....but I was having the same problem you are....which was being able to boot into one W2k os but not the other one...oh well....my problem has been solved....I just did a format of my HD and installed ME....now I have to create a new partition and reinstall Win2k....although I kinda like ME by itself.....decisions decisions.
