Does anybody know of a program that will change the background of my Vista box at windows boot to a random image from a selection of directories? I tried "Background changing application" from sourceforge but it didn't change the image at boot time.

The problem is terminology. What you see4m to want to change is not called the "background," but the splash screen. It can be changed - but is it worth the hassle?

Splash

Background is used to describe the desktop's wallpaper.

I want to change the desktop background/wallpaper, not the boot up windows splash screen.

That's a no brainer. Just right click on the desktop, setelct PERSONALIZE, and do it.

I think he wants the surprise factor of not knowing what his background will be until he logs in. I can see the appeal of that.

Its the random factor Im looking for. Something that will load at boot, change the wallpaper and then exit. Thanks for the suggestions.

A wallpaper changer is what I was looking for. My terminology was off.
