Dear all,

before starting a Raid 0 configuration (for OS and applications, i.e. : Windows XP Pro 64, Photoshop CS3 and many plug-ins, Capture One, Lightroom, Qimage,...) on two VelociRaptor 150 Mega with a Supermicro X7DAE motherboard (2x Xeon 5130 and 8 Gig Ram), is there on the market a good software allowing a full back-up of OS and softs located on the RAID0 HDs?

I have heard about Acronis True Image on this (and other) forums, but it is not crystal clear if it works for a full back-up of the system.

I have no dedicated RAID card in my computer, but only the onboard SATA/RAID controller (Intel ESB2 chipset).

Who can advise me based on his/her experience?

Thank you very much

Ruud

Acronis, ShadowProtect, and Windows Home Server should all give you image-based full backups of your PC.

I use Acronis TrueImage to clone my RAID array to a single, large external HDD. Backup/restore also works - same software -0 but I prefer instant recovery with no restore necessary. I used it when I upgraded my RAID array HDDs. The cloned drive made rebuild easy.
