already started 3 weeks ago. 9 more weeks until 4 months of summer. nd i never got the concept of going home during breaks and paying rent on a place, seems like a waste of money.

Well I had no choice. All leases were 12 months. It would be more expensive for me to live there rather than at home for the summer because I would have to pay for food, tv etc...

then you get a part time job someplace fun. summer are usually great fun around campus, there's a tight nit community of summer stayers, you party a lot because the weather is nice and you don't have the responsibility of school

what year are you? the effect of your high school friends usually wears off after the 1st year as you make better and more meaningful friends at uni.

I move in Wednesday the 20th, and classes start Monday the 25th.

I'm moving from Slidell, Louisiana to Los Angeles, California. What a trip.

I move in on the sept 19th... I'm not really sure when I start either though

what year are you? the effect of your high school friends usually wears off after the 1st year as you make better and more meaningful friends at uni.

And I've gotta respectfully disagree with that statement... everyone's different of course, but I've managed to stay friends with someone for k-12 and through college and have many very close friends from hs that I'm still very close with.

I'm not saying you don't keep friends as I have lifers as well, but unless you go to Uni somewhat close to where you grew up you start to sift out the lifers from just high school friends. Not to mention at Uni your friends become your family, so the relationships are different.

Then again, school doesn't end till like June 11th this year. Quarters - both a blessing and a curse. Short 10 week classes, but 3 of them a year, and to get it done properly with a winter break, gotta start late and end late.

Sounds like tOSU. New $105 mil library renovations coming along pretty good. Hope the football team wins, damn they look good.

I live at home year-round...just finished summer semester Thursday, and fall semester starts on the 25th.
I live about 4 miles from the campus, so it's a fairly easy jaunt.

Also please note that your 'family-like-friends' at uni will dissapear and be nothing in a few years afterwards. A few years after graduation and all you have is some co-workers, a little family, and thats about it. Pretty much isolated and alone and unhappy. But you can always go to bars and be the creepy old guy and hit on young poon and get shot down. Ah, such is life!

There's always the internetz!

false, false, and more false.

edit: at least it didn't work out like that for me, but hey, everyone's different.

I started moving in yesterday, but will officially start living in my new place this coming Monday. Classes start the 25th. I'm really close to campus and a bunch of other fun areas. I'm excited :)

I fly out of Switzerland back to California on the 15th of Sept. Classes begin on the 25th, and I can't fuckin' wait! Last year of grad school courses, and then I'll just be a researcher until PhD time.

Sucks when the College has distractions and shit going on behind the scenes, I crushed them when I was there. To concentrate on the study.
