I just bought a Abit KT7 Raid mobo with the VIA KT133 chipset and found out it doesn't work with my MX300. So I started thinking about what I could replace it with and something came to mind that I hadn't thought about it a long time. I still have an old ISA Sound Blaster 16 PNP that I haven't used in 3 years, but now I'm going to be running it again.
The only reason I used the MX300 was for A3d which Win2k (I'm using Win2k) doesn't support anyway. So there really isn't an advantage to using a PCI sound card.
Sorta ironic if you ask me! You buy a brand spanking new peice of technology that requires you to use old technology for it work correctly!
