The i7 860 beats the 930 by a bit in encoding and rendering video, so you would actually take a hit getting the 930, unless you plan on using 4 way SLI or the full 24GB RAM you're taking a hit with the 9xx over the 8xx chip.

The only real reason to get a 930 is if you're into scientific calculation/ 3D Rendering with raytracing, otherwise go for the 8xx.

More Plentiful, Cheaper RAM

I'm guessing (and this is only a guess so...) that the only apps that are programmed to utilize the 9xx Hyperthreading are 3D app render engines because of how demanding and time consuming 3D Rendering is.
