I ordered mine on Monday the 10th and just received it today the 14th (upstate NY). Only had time to go home and take the package off the front step and get back to work, so I didn't get a chance to see what DVD drive it shipped with. I will know tonight. 😀
 
Yep, I actually ordered mine from there about an hour before this thread went up. Haven't got mine yet though (West Central Ohio). I got another wireless controller and Pre-ordered NCAA 07 both at 10% off too. Only $2 and some odd change for shipping and no tax, pretty nice.
 
Another FYI, I just checked my 360 DVD drive, and it is a Samsung drive. I know some might be interested in this information.
 
For those searching it's catalog # 10269797. I wish I could have gotten this deal. Would have saved a ton of cash. If I could return mine I would but it's bee 6 weeks since I bought it.

Nah. the hitachi is the only one you can mod atm.


As for the Hitachi vs Samsung it really doesnt matter if you arnt gonna do the firmware hack.

Actually the Samsung can also be modded. I believe it was the first one to get modded, but not certain of that. It tends to be more compatible with DVD+R DL discs than the Hitachi. Philips is the one that has no mods yet. No matter to me right now, because I want to play around with it for a while before I void my warranty and brick the drive. :laugh:
