Back from vacation, GF stats, goodbyes...

I'm officially back from vacation.:p
(I got a chance to visit briefly while cruising the Carribean, it only cost .50/min for Internet access from the ship!;))

I would like to thank Possessed Freak for his help with collecting daily GF stats data for me in my abscence.:D

I have posted the current stats (I had to average a couple of days in there to accommodate for some missing data. If you look closely, you'll see where.) Unfortunately, while I was away my GF proxy crashed and some of the clients raised problems across the office network. This is why the TA average was lower than normal over the past few days, however yesterday was a better than average day.;) In the end, the data still shows what those of us who regularly work on GF already knew.:(

Vacations are great! You get an opportunity to drop everything you are doing all at once and take some much needed time off to relax. My wife and I had a great time, one of the best vacations we've had in fact. I've had some time to think about all of those things I dropped a week ago and I'm taking a careful look at each one as I begin to pick them back up. With this, I've decided to leave distributed computing behind.

I'd like to like to say goodbye to a few of you individually. LeBlatt, my first friend here on TA, the Race to 100K, page one, the merger that never happened, your efforts with the race page have made my time here great. Best of luck to you my friend!:D

Possessed Freak, mechBgon, Burnt Kooshie, SYST3M, HeavyIron, Chris (aka Ereet Hamster), Lord Demios, Mika, Rocketsled Roger, Wolfie, viztech, RaySun2Be, Jay, Two Face, ViRGE, and Networkman, you guys define the spirt of Team AnandTech that I will remember.:) You guys will be missed!;)

It's been a lot of fun for me, I wish everyone on Team AnandTech the best of luck in all of your present and future projects.

Osmo.

Osmo , I'm happy to hear that you had a great vacation, I could almost taste those Daiquiri?s.;)

I appreciate all of your efforts that you put into the distributed computing projects. I seemed to me that you always went over and above the normal participation level and injected fun and camaraderie back into the projects, not to mention your GF stats.

I also thank you for befriending me in IRC. We have some common threads that would make chat interesting and fun. I hope you will still visit the IRC channel.

I wish you good luck in your future careers, endeavors and maybe distributed computing projects.;)

Don't forget to turn up the radio!

now what the hell am I going to do?

Before the only thing that kept me in DC was joinging with Syst3m... later I joined you osmo in GF... I can not go back to d.net... being one of the few TAers in GF alone is not fun... Now what... seti had better have some good pproxy software, if not I am doing prime95 god damn it!

Whatever you wish osmo :)

Good luck to you, I have no doubt you will still be 'lurking' at times, you have made a significant contribution to TA. Your name will be fairly high up in the GF stats for a long time to come yet. :D

I havn't had the time to get to know you very well osmo, but I do remember that you were an active IRC member, and that you had the best of interest in any of the distributed computing efforts TA was participating in.

It saddens me a little to see you leave, but if you had a long thought over it, you must be pretty sure about it. I wish you, your wive and your future kids the best. Good luck, if you do go back to study to get that Masters degree.

I hope this is not farewell, and that your check back from time to time here and in #teamanandtech.

Good luck to you, osmo. We all wish you the best. You have been a great member, all of your efforts have really helped out the team a bunch. It's sad to see you go and all of us in the channel will surely miss you. If you ever feel like stopping by, please do! Once again, good luck and God bless you.

PF, you can use SETIQ as a proxy for all your clients if they're on a LAN. :)

Osmo, I will miss you tremendously, especially if you don't at least drop by the IRC channel when it's time for some UT! Here's to all the fond memories of your patient help with ICS (*now if I could just get out of this padded cell...*) and all the other fun we have had so far. I hope you will be able to sleep at night without the computers running... ;)

:( As allways, it's truely sad to lose a good member of TA. However, it's allways your choice, and we respect that. Good luck on your future ventures, and don't be a stranger.:)

OSMO!!!!!!!!
Man, This is a sad day in DC. You must at least stop by once and a while to chat with us. Please. IRC or here. It doesn't matter. As long as it's one or the other.
Take care and keep in touch.

OSMO :(

You will be missed greatly, you BETTER hang out in the IRC so that I can have someone to play UT with.

Good luck, and if you decide to come back, we will be here. (check IRC often, some times things change, and I need another person for playing UT)

Just cuz I know you forgot my name when listing off the Hall of Fame. ;)

Not to be a conspiracy theory nut, but is this just so Osmo can resurface in a month when we have a big SysOpt vs. TA UT cookoff and Osmo can infiltrate our ranks and self-destruct us? Oh wait, he already did that on the first one. =)
