How did you get your information so far in advance?

I may pick up two for that price. My parents are looking for one and I wouldn't mind having a back up.

PH
😀

Damn, they must have, it's not even listed on the visioneer website... 2400 scanner... You think these are decent ? The 4400 were cheap also (15) but they were pretty good for 15 bucks

^bump^ -sounds good to me!

Is this the Visioneer PrimaScan Colorodo 2400U?
PC compatible, USB interface(s), 600 x 1200 max. optical resolution

kinda sounds like it, I see that buy.com is selling them for $70, & w/ the rebate, that would be in the right price range.....

Ok, newbie question. Is the $50 rebate mail in or instant. Depending on which one it is, where can I find it? 😀

Sorry Another Newbie Question...
I still cannot figure out what B&M stands for. I think it means that you can only get it at the store.🙂

poulpaya,
"You are correct suh." 🙂 B&M =Brick & Mortar

The offer is only valid in the 'reality' store. Not online ('virtual') store.

I went by my local Staples (SLC, UT) and they had tons (over a hundred). They don't go on sale until Sunday and the rebate is a MIR (Mail in Rebate). Also, it is the Visioneer PrimaScan Colorado 2400U.

I cant find the primascan on their website..
can anyone post a link to visioneer's link to this product?
cj

I did find a link to one 'for sale' on fleabay..
so you can see what it looks like..

I have a question about scanners: how does the dpi and the # of bits matter? I have a 300x600 dpi 36 bit scanner. If I switch to this (600x1200 bits and same number of bits) will it make a difference?

Thanks 🙂

This scanner will be more than adequate for scanning images for websites right? If so it seems like a killer deal. Just wanted to know a bit more about the scanner I know nothing about them so I dont know what dpi and resolution is good enough.

thanks drew

purplehayes asked " How did you get your information so far in advance? "

My friend's company printer their flyer. So he gave me one sssshhhhhhhh

And about all the other questions about scanner. I did state
" Another goodee 4 the kids. And we get to meet 150 or 200 code😉"
So I really don't know about it but what the heck for 10 bucks....

IS Primascan a sub-company of Visioneer? I was busy looking on
Visioneer's website.. sigh
for 9.98.. how can you go wrong..
just hate to wait for a 50$ rebate to go thru..

(can extra coupons be added to this deal somehow?)

Is this better than the CanoScan 630u that staples had about 1 year ago for 19$ or so?? IT was ok..but slow.. cj

cejay,
scan quality will be similar to the 630U... I think the 630u was usb powered (anybody remember?). This primascan has an AC adapter w/ it I believe.

Yes, this deal is in-store only. (B&M=Brick & Mortar)

One last question..
we have to wait until 2/18 to purchase these.. correct?

Also, wonder why you have to PLUG this one into power.. thats a drag..
I thought USB did power the items.. like you said about the 630u
cj

Dude, that poor USB connection can only provide so much juice!! It'll provide some nominal power, but not a lot; 500 mA per port if I remember. Heck, most USB webcams draw the allotted amount; a scanner does quite a bit more.

Edit: Primascan website says "In the United States, the Primascan 2400u scanner is available at Circuit City." Heh, I find that amusing, considering Staples is the one providing us with this great deal.

I stopped by today to check this deal out.

It is actually two mail in rebates.
One for $30 from Visioneer (who must own primascan)
and $20 from Staples.

In the requirements for both rebates it states that you must cut out and mail in the UPC barcode. Which means you can only get one of these rebates, unless you think you can BS your way past the second one with a photocopy or somthing.

The $30 rebate started on 2/5, and ends in may some time. The $20 starts tommorow (sunday 2/18) through 2/24.

bart

yea, both rebates require a UPC, can we do anything about this?

Bitch at staples for false ads b/c they say 50 off?
call management?
