Back again and help needed.*Fixed*

Well I am back again after a hiatus that was far too long.

Had a couple questions.

Just built a system that has an AMD 8 core that is churning along fine, but my 750 TI is not showing up and my client is is stuck in updating.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Desslok

Would that be F@H or a Boinc project and which one.......
I'm sure someone here can help.

My Folding@Home experience is quite low, and past experience similar to yours is one reason I've not pursued it as much as BOINC.

I'm assume you have likely tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any luck. Have you gone into the settings to add the GPU? GPU's aren't used by default.

Sorry if I'm not much help, but I didn't want you to think you're being ignored.

Welcome back!

First thing I would do is check to make sure you have a GPUs.txt file.

It will be in your AppData\Roaming\FAHClient folder.

If it is not there or the file is there but empty, follow these instructions:

From the Folding Forum:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The client downloads the GPUs.txt file from here and is not empty. Sounds like Windows 10 (Or 7) is blocking the download, or failing to write the file to disk. Might be some new security setting.

Download a fresh copy of the file manually and see if you can put the file in the FAHClient Data directory. Then restart the client.

aka C: \Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot of good info on that forum; you just have to hunt for it sometimes. 🙂

PS: Be sure to stop folding and restart it after you do this. If the GPU still doesn't start folding you may need to add that slot manually. That info is in the installation instructions, or we can help.

Hope this helps.

Sorry to take so long, but sometimes I'm just.........well.............. pokey.............
