I would have liked to see more of season 2-4 of B5 and mostly a lot more season 4 with the Earth civil war. I HATED season 5 and the Rangers crap they added later in the miniseries and movies. Just did nothing for me.

the show got dicked around pretty hard by the tv networks. it was sold as 5 seasons, then forced down to 4, then back to 5. the fifth season as shown was supposed to be the 1st spin-off show

And fuck the Minbari.

The Earth Alliance did it for me, I liked that Earth wasn't the top of the food chain, I liked the ships and thought they were feasible. Especially the Starfuries. I wanted more of the focus on that struggle instead of the Ranger stuff.

But it's pretty impossible I think now, so many of the cast has died and G'Kar and Londo made the show. A show focused more on the Earth Alliance and it being eclipsed by the epic struggle between G'Kar and the Narn against Londo and the Centauri is what I wanted.

And fuck the Minbari.

Supposedly NASA actually wanted to use that design for the ISS:
During the run of the show, the show's creator, J. Michael Straczynski, was contacted by NASA officials who asked if they could borrow the design of the show's fighters - the StarFuries - for use on the International Space Station. NASA wanted to use the ships as a combination tug and forklift, adding, "Your design is the most practical we've seen." Straczynski replied that it was fine with him, but that NASA had to call them StarFuries. NASA agreed.

and Lyta married Kosh.

I looked that up and Lyta(Patricia Tallman) was also a stunt double and was head of the Stunt Actors guild for awhile..

She was also sort of in Jurassic Park:

Though she didn't appear as an actress in Jurassic Park (1993) , she does appear, due to an editing gaff, during a closeup of what was supposed to be Laura Dern (she was Dern's stunt double). She is visible for about one second, after Dern's character falls off the T-Rex skeleton and the camera zooms in for a closeup of her face.

I thought B5 was pretty great but never finished watching it for some reason. I cannot remember why. I also liked the feeling that the humans were nothing special (unlike star trek where humans are the center of the universe) and that humans were just as deceitful and mean-spirited as the rest (again, unlike trek).

I always feel like that in the distant future if we ever do reach the stars and see other races, then we will be much more like the B5 humans than the utopian trek humans.
