On an unrelated side note, all the Babe Ruth bars I've ever had have been close to brick hard... this typical?

And all this time I thought Kandy Kakes were a indigenous to Philadelphia and created by my beloved Tasty Baking I thought the "k"s in the name was merely an allusion to the "k" in Tastykake. I've been living a lie!

I honestly don't know... :p
The big deal about Grover Cleveland's daughter Baby Ruth was that she was illegitimate (much bigger than Monicagate here folks) but that was back in ~1880, while the candy bar came out in ~1920 after Babe Ruth was already a pretty big star. I tend to agree with Snopes on this one.

The point was that Curtiss was banking on Babe Ruth's name by slightly changing it. The Ruth Cleveland story was fabricated by Curtiss to keep Ruth et al from complaining about attempting to make bank off his character. Sneaky.
