Garage is too small to park a car in let alone work on one. I'd have to literally clear it out 100% (which means no room for tools) and even then you have to squeeze out the door to get out. There's like no room to work. I wish it was like 3x bigger, then it would be the size of a normal single car garage.

That's why I'll be converting it into a small wood working shop instead. I need to insulate it and add HVAC and stuff. I tried to work on my snow blower when it broke down last year using a heater but without insulation the heat was not doing much. Ended up just getting a company to come pick it up.

Next property I buy I want it in an unorganized township (no permits needed) and big enough so I can build a huge garage.

Block heater? I haven't lived anywhere cold enough to need one in a long time, but in Wyoming, they were invaluable during the winter. It's wonderful climbing into a vehicle, starting the engine, turning on the heater and getting heat almost instantly...

73 and sunny today. My snowbird neighbors from London Ontario are enjoying it especially after I gave them a handle of Forty Creek. 😎

Insulating is a huge help for a garage. I think mine has R-19 or R-23 in the walls, and my living room is right above it. Even now, when the temps are dipping down into the teens at night the garage is holding steady at ~45-50F.

Yeah I can't wait to be able to actually do projects in there year round. That's going to be my main project in spring I think. I still need to move lot of stuff to the shed and organize it in there then I'll have room to start on the garage.

Just too bad it's so small though, I kinda would like to learn how to do basic car maintenance and stuff but it's just too small for that. I could MAYBE work on a smart car in there. 😛

The cold spell here has passed...for now. Rain and lows in the mid-30’s for now. That’s tolerable.

~34° now. It's been a good week. Nice and cool, with no fucking rain. My side yard's still a swamp from the relentless rain this year. I'm hoping my new dawn redwood I planted there helps dry it out. It would be cool if it threw up some knees also.

That’s freaking Frost Punk temps!

How do you function in that?

Anything above literal freezing is dandy. It can get dicey below that when the winds start, but I've been out in the sunny snow in the 20s with my shirt off cause I was too hot.

It is currently 61ºF here in Atlanta as the overnight low, in Winter. T-shirt, shorts and flipflops for everyone.
About the same here, and it rained yesterday. All it does anymore is rain. It's coming back Wednesday night - Saturday. Might help my lawn mowing issues. I'll just plant koi :^S

I'll take the cold over rain tbh, I hate rain. It's so miserable. With the cold at least that's when the sun comes out, oddly enough.

I was curious what my solar panels would produce in these extreme cold temps but they're covered in like half a foot of ice/snow sludge because we did get freezing rain a while back. I need to figure out a way to remove that, but I'm probably out of luck for the rest of winter. Something to consider if ever I go off grid I'll want some way to guard the panels against freezing rain. Probably a tilt mechanism that just flips them vertical when it rains or snows. Could have some portable panels in storage that I could pull out for extra power too when the main system is out of comission.

It rained a ton last night and was in the low 50s here today. I'm just waiting for it to get cold again so I can go snowboarding.

One day last week we got 6" of warm rain in a single day. I love to imagine what that would equate to in snow and scare the wife.

If we really want to start getting literal with everything using the term "baby" for your significant other is rather creepy. "Oh yeah baby keep doing me like that!" ewww...
