B&W or Tribes2?

Alrighty folks, two potentially great games coming out the same time. I can only afford one, which one should I get?

I like both genres, FPS and RPG. I know Tribes2 is just more of the same and B&W is supposed to be unique.

If I could only go with one I wouldn't pick either game, I would go with Neverwinter Nights..

If I had to pick between your two options I'd go with B&W..

Tribes 2 youl probably only play B&W till you beat it and then never see it again, Im actually still playing tribes 1 getting ready for tribes 2

Uh, sorry buddy, but B&W is gonna be more like The Sims than a traditional game because there are so many variations of what you can do. I saw a thing at Gamespot that said there were something like 23 different ways of completing your first objective and between the three animal assistants and all the ways your style of play can affect the world and such, it'll bear multiple replays and experiments.

Tribes 2 will be just like Tribes with better graphics and gameplay tweaks.

B&W for me.. Been waiting for this for a long long time.. and I'm a big fan for this kinda of games. There are 3 games I'm waiting for that's coming out this year. B&W, Neverwinter Nights, and Harpoon4.

I have preordered Tribes. I love online games (will be buying neverwinter nights as well).

I have been getting more and more interested in Black & White as I have been reading up on it more. Will probably buy as well.

Depends on what you like more. Tribes will most likely last longer, particularly if they release the source code so that mods can be made (just look at half-life for instance. WHAT A GOOD BUY!). I would probably reccomend Tribes, though only by a hair.

Black and White is gonna rock when it comes out (hopefully by the end of this month). This is the game that I've been waiting for.

NWN isn't going to be out for a looong time yet. 🙂

i'm definitely picking up tribes 2 at the end of the month, tho.. and maybe anarchy online (depending on if/how much there's a cost to play).

haven't heard much on B&W.. is it multiplayer over the net? i don't really play single player games anymore.. 🙂

Tribes is suck. I have never ditched a FPS game faster than that one. I play(ed) Q2, Q3, UT, TFC (but no CS yet), but Tribes was just too hard to find a decent game.

I guess if you have a clan or do the LAN thing, it may be OK, otherwise it's weak.

I hope more people buy B&W than are sounding off here cuz if it doesn't do well, publishers will refuse to fund unique games in the future and we can look forward to just prettier versions of the SOS.

i looked at the B&W homepage and it looks pretty nice. however, i can't buy it unless it's multi-player. imo, single player games most often just don't have the re-playability.

fwiw, counterstrike is -definitely- worth a few tries. some folks never get into it. for the ones that do, it's a really fun (and balanced, esp. now) game.

i may actually hold off a bit on tribes 2, since the new counterstrike update will probably keep me busy for awhile. 🙂 but i see where you're coming from with the original tribes. hopefully the new game will be a little more balanced, etc. the main problem w/ tribes imo, is the mortar. sick, sick weapon.

Mollinoux (sp?) the B&W creator said that the chat part of the game where you show off your monster to other folks and work on skills will now be a free add-on later.

Being that that was the part of the game I was really interested in he made my decision for me. I placed my pre-order for Tribes2. Thanks for the advice.
