B&W Laser Printer

i'm looking at stuff at office max and staples and then going to cnet for reviews. NOTHING HAS A REVIEW!!! i hate that!

Depends on what you're going to use it for. If you're going to do 5000 or 10k pages per month, you'd do well to stick with HP, Lexmark or the like. In any event, keep in mind the price of consumables. A $150 laser printer doesn't seem so attractive when a replacement drum costs $125 and the toner costs another $100.

I have a Samsung 4100 all-in-one laser printer (printer/copier/scanner) that I bought for around $70 last year. It's not great build quality but it gets the job done and 3rd party toner/drum cartridges can be had on ebay for under $50. Samsung also offers Linux drivers for this printer.

I bought a Canon d320 printer/copier for my parents late last year for about $150 after rebate. It seems to be built much better than the Samsung and runs quieter. No scanner function though.
