Just curious. im not talking about a two week vacation in hawaii, im talking about the real deal. And if you were permanently banned, what would you do? Join another forum? Wreak havoc somehow to anandtech server(for the geek in you), or simply continue to enjoy anandtech although you can't express yourself in written form?

I write this because alot of the threads i post in, alot of little kids respond by writing BAN, lol, am i supposed to be scared? this forum may be your life, but its not mine. i enjoy reading and responding during my break time and if i get banned for one reason or another, its not the end of the world.


So are you afraid of getting banned from anandtech?

 
I would just re-signup.
But I can imagine for some people that have been registered for like over 4-5 years would be upset to loose their account.
 
The people calling BAN on you may be doing so because from their perspective you are acting like a troll.

Starting threads or entering threads to cause irrational discussion is the impression that you are making.

A perfect example is the Plane/treadmill thread.
The item was beaten to death, yet you continued to push the subject.

There is a difference between people calling out BAN in jest and when one starts becoming a PITA (ie. Goku/Mango).
Eventually being a PITA to others can cause you to be a PITA to the Moderators.

What the people are just letting others know that the poster (usually the OP) has a body odor problem that is bad enough for them to smell through the internet and that they need some BAN deodorant.

I'd probly still go here and look around, especially for tech support stuff
(using the wonderful search system most likely)
 
Bans are healthy once in a while. Cleanse the ATOT soul, straighten you up a bit. 😛

In all seriousness, of course not. Fear on an internet forum is for the little kiddies who post four letter words and run away from the computer giggling.

However, if I notice people continuously calling me out and generally maintaining that I'm a douchebag, I might be a little worried. *hint hint*

Eh, I've been banned plenty of times. (I think 6 at last count). It hurts the first time...but then eventually it stops hurting and starts feeling..different...each time it happens.
