my system is PIII450 with AZZA BT-6IBP running on win2k.

i am using scsi hd to boot up. then i bought IBM 40GV ATA100, but my bios doesnt support that hd, probably due to its size. would bios update helps?
suggestions?

a more recent bios may allow the bios to see all that hdd. if that isn't possible then you can get Disk Manager 2000 (version 3.10.14) from here which allows an older system BIOS with a drive capacity limitation (i.e. 528MB, 540MB, 2.1GB, 4.2GB, 8.4GB or 32GB) to use IBM IDE drives above those limits.
a more drastic but better solution IMO would be to get a promise ata 100 pci controller card which would fully recognise that drive(it has its own bios) but would also maximise the drives performance potential! 🙂
