I am having a problem with Azureus - it was fine when I first installed it and then when I put in 2 torrents and restarted the computer, it caused my system to come to a speed which is so close to being completely frozen. I can't figure out if my 6881 udp port is open? to increase download speeds? but I still can't figure out what is causing my system to suffer each time I open Azureus.

And a second thing to put out there - does anyone know what that Supreme Court ruling regarding ?TV shows? and file sharing - something about how they can't do anything about people sharing recorded TV because they only have a say over what is being aired and not with what people do with it afterwards. So does this make sharing recorded TV legal -at least for the time being-.

All the ruling did was say that the FCC can't require devices like Tivo/etc to support broadcast flags that would disable recording/sharing of the shows. I'm not sure what effect this has on file sharing of television programs.

Azureus is a resource hog. Upgrade to the latest version and the latest version of Java for best results.

You might try switching to ABC 3.0. More stable, resource friendly, and faster. I was very underwhelmed by Azureus.

I wasn't overly impressed by azureus either, despite all my friends raving about it. I use Burst and like it pretty well except it has some little bugs that pop up from time to time...
