Azalia audio vs Audigy 2 Vista 64

We had an storm last night, our power went out and so did my Intel p965lt motherboard. So I was forced to run down to frys and grab a new one. I ended up with a asus p5q se. First off I gotta say..really impressive motherboard. Love the layout. Works perfectly with my case. Very fast, easy install.. on and on. So far so good.

Now the onboard sound is azalia HD 7.1. Or I have an audigy 2.

opinions?

Just try the onboard, you might be surprised at how good integrated sound has gotten. I personally have an Audigy 2 that's been sitting in the "parts drawer" for over a year now. I'll probably eventually toss it into someone's system who has had onboard audio fail or something.

A major reason to go with the Audigy 2, IMO, would be for ALchemy support for playing older games using EAX. However that's a fairly significant reason for me, but it might not be a concern at all for you.

I use both of them... and sometime compare it's quality.... I Prefer my old Audigy 2 have better music sound quality than my HD... plus it EAX advantage (if u re a gamer) give me much tactical advantage... (you can hear distinct enemy foot step behind you!). The reason I use my HD, because i install Mac OS on my PC as 2nd OS.
